John Schroeder and Ron Szot

Lancair Super ES
We have had the gear and the wings on the fuselage for awhile and almost
finished the worst job yet: the installation of the fuselage-to-wing fairings.
After installing the final aileron linkages and the wing's forward attachment
components, we are about to take the fuselage back to the cool basement to get a
lot of plumbing, wiring and controls installed. We'll also install the glass and
fit the top before moving out to the hangar for more assembly in the fall.

The avionics stack has narrowed and a lot of the other equipment has been
decided. We really learned a lot at Sun N Fun because a lot of ES builders
converged in the same spot on one day. We also got a lot of definitive info from
some key vendors - and slobbered at the booths of others with gee whiz stuff!

Ron Szot and John Schroeder are getting more working time this month
than for the past 3 or 4. The flight controls are being installed and the ailerons have been roughly rigged and their stops installed.

The top of the fuselage has been trimmed and installed temporarily. The plan is
to install the glass and the door in the top and then take the bottom back to a cooler environment in the basement for the summer. There is
about 3 months of wiring and hardware installation before moving it back to the hangar for good. The picture shows the interior of the fuselage looking toward the firewall.
