MEETING MINUTES

MONDAY , SEPTEMBER 25, 2006

Approximately 30 members and guests met on this date at Michael Moore’s engine shop in Mooresville, NC.  Mike’s name for the business is AV WORKS and aptly seems to describe  a major thrust of the business even though we did hear a fair amount of information on building engines for other purposes.  A visit to this shop was extremely interesting and educational.  Mike and his workers evidently know engines and know them well.  In fact, your secretary was lucky enough to be in the first group to tour the facility and our questions and Mike's thorough answering of the same meant that we got a much longer than planned tour.  Those in the second group probably were not quite as fortunate. 

The attendees were also confronted with a monstrous pile of filled pizza boxes which were quickly converted to empty pizza boxes.  Some of the group were able to also visit an adjoining business where composite panels are produced and were given a tour through that facility.
