Proposed
chapter hangar at Gastonia airport
- The chapter has
submitted a formal request to city officials to lease space at Gastonia
airport. Additional information detailing the potential positive impact
of Chapter 309 at Gastonia has
also been submitted. The request will be processed in committee and then
by the city council before approval will be given. Council meetings are
held every 4 weeks.
- Assuming satisfactory
approval, next steps are to complete the fund raising campaign and to prepare
a permit application for construction. It is assumed that commitment of
funds for purchase of building materials and site preparation will not
commence until all the necessary donations, bonds and loans are secured;
i.e. 100% financing is clear.
- To prepare for the
construction permit application, engineering drawings will be obtained
from the building supplier, Strat-O-Span. The fee for these drawings is
$500.00 and this money will not be released until a satisfactory lease
proposal is received from Gastonia.
- An acknowledgment has
been received for the chapter’s application for 501(c)3 tax exempt status.
Monroe

- At the moment, there

Hill SC for Carolina aviator’s bragging rights. This has been accepted
with the counter challenge of
whichever chapter comes out ahead in the race will supply free food
to the other at their next fly-in. The counter challenge has been
accepted.
