The meeting of Chapter 309 EAA was called to order at the North Harbor Club at 7:15 pm.  Presiding was Chapter President John Wigney.  Those present included four guests.  Two of those introduced were Mr. Ron Hoe, the General Manager of the Monroe Regional Airport and Mr. Tom Wescoe.  The other two guests were introduced however, your secretary was never able to acquire those names.  The agenda for the evening was announced as including the following items:  (1)Gastonia hangar, (2)November 6, 2005 Fly In, (3) 2005 National Air Race, and (4)A DVD related to the new Sport Pilot Regulations.

President Wigney announced that he and Wally Overton had met with Fire Dept. officials in Gastonia.  They learned that the hangar would require a 2 hour firewall on the north wall and a 1 hour fire wall on the left hand wall (facing the hangar).  Separate discussions with a construction company suggest this could be met with appropriate layers of sheet rock.  Sam Stewart and John Wigney were to meet later with Gastonia Officials to discuss lease arrangements.  The details of the lease will be released at a later date.  Still to come are meetings with construction representatives.

Engineering drawings are needed.  The timeline expected as of now is for construction to possibly begin in October with completion before the first of the year.  John reviewed the planned financing structure in response to questions.
