The January 16, 2006 meeting of EAA Chapter 309 was called
to order at 7:25 pm. The meeting was held at the Open Kitchen in
Charlotte. Sam Stewart presided due to the absence of President John
Wigney who was on a Habitat for Humanity project related to hurricane
Katrina. Sam reported on the status of the hangar project. He
indicated that the funds now available for the project exceed 67% of the
anticipated costs which will result in a smaller than expected need for
financing. He also reported that there remains some additional work on
the electrical plans which is being handled by Wally Overton. The process
of seeking all available support for the funding of this project continues and
will continue until that time when a loan will need to be established.
Sam also reported that the status of our 501(c)3 application is as yet not
finalized. The Chapter recently had to submit additional information to
support our application.
Earl Fortner reported that he had a number of name tags which had earlier been
ordered by members.
We welcomed four guests
Several members shared the status of projects.
.Sam shared a listing of the events which have been
scheduled for 2006. (More details should be given here but your secretary
recently cleaned his desk and it appears that the details most likely have been
transferred to the circular file.)
Respectively submitted
